コロナウィルス関連の英語表現
例文－①
Tokyo is expected to be excluded from the easing of restrictions, as new cases have continued to be reported.
訳：東京都に関しては、新規感染者が引き続き報告されているため、外出規制の緩和からは除外されることが予想される。
"exclude" は「除外する、排除する」という意味で使われます。
「規制緩和」は、"easing restrictions" と訳されています。
例文－②
Government officials plan to present new guidelines for restarting economic activities to prevent further spread of infection, once the state of emergency has been lifted.
訳：政府は、緊急事態宣言が解除されたあとの感染拡大を防ぐための、経済活動再開に関する新しいガイドラインを発表する計画である。
”prevent" には「予防する、防ぐ」という意味があります。
「感染拡大」は ” spread of infection” と訳されています。
例文－③
They also plan to call on prefectures under special alert to firmly maintain stay-at-home” requests, until the declaration is lifted.
訳：また政府は、特定警戒都道府県に対して緊急事態宣言が解除されるまで、自粛を要請する計画である。
"call on ～" は「～を求める、～を要求する」という意味の熟語です。
例文－④
The new system allows health workers to check on patients recuperating at home via a smart phone app.
訳：新しいシステムは医療従事者がスマートホンのアプリを使って、家にいる患者の回復状況を確認することができる。
「医療従事者」は "health worker(s)" と訳されていました。
"recuperate" は「回復する、治る」という意味の動詞です。
例文－⑤
If they do not comply with the executive order, they may have their operating license suspended or revoked.
訳：執行領令に従わなかった場合、営業許可の差し止めや取り消しを受ける可能性がある。
"comply with ～"は 「～に従う、～に応じる」という意味の熟語です。
"executive order" はアメリカで大統領や州知事が発する命令のことです。
"operating license" は、「営業許可証、運転免許証」という意味です。
なお「運転免許証」は "driver's license" の方が日常ではよく使われます。
"revoke" は「取り消す、無効にする」という意味の動詞です。
例文－⑥
Britain's prime minister Boris Johnson has unveiled plans to ease the nation’s coronavirus lockdown in phases over the next two months.
訳：イギリスのボリス・ジョンソン首相は、今後２か月にわたり、全国的なロックダウンを段階的に解除する計画を発表した。
"unveil" は、「発表する、明かす」という意味の動詞です。
"in phases" は、「段階的に」という意味のフレーズです。
例文－⑦
Iran is now facing the major challenge of preventing a second wave of the pandemic from spreading across the nation.
訳：イランは、パンデミックの第２波が、全国に波及しないよう努めている。
「～の第２波」は "a second wave of ～"といいます。
